Christopher Andrew is a director, editor, DP, VJ, and founder of Stoptime Live.
Andrew’s career began in 1995, working for the award winning Lone Wolf Documentary Group, on projects for PBS, National Geographic, and NOVA. In 2000, Andrew founded Stoptime Live, a multi-media company focused on live video performance, and custom content creation. Within a year Andrew was VJ’ing at all the major dance venues in Chicago, and touring nationally with House of Blues, and Sony PlayStation. Starting in 2003, Andrew spent eight years touring the world with EDM superstar Tiësto, and continues to produce content for him today. In 2011 Andrew began directing for a new company, Cobra Productions, the in-house media service arm of Cobra Lounge, Cobra Music Co, Japonais by Morimoto, and Riot Fest.
As a VJ Andrew has performed all over the world at legendary festivals, events, and institutions such as: Ultra Music Festival, Burning Man, The Art Institute of Chicago, Electric Daisy Carnival, Amsterdam Dance Event, Comicon, and countless more.
As a live event director Andrew has been directing the video production for Riot Fest for the past seven years, overseeing a 45 person crew this year in Chicago, live switching on the main stage for the likes of The Cure, Janes Addiction, Gogol Bordelo and hundreds of other artists. Andrew has also directed the switching for Northcoast Music Festival, TedX, Tiësto in Concert, and a variety of other stadium shows.
As a touring documentarian Andrew has traveled the world, producing tour documentaries for EDM artists such as Cosmic Gate, Tiësto, and Aly & Fila and festivals including Camp Bisco, Buku Fest, and Riot Fest. Andrew’s feature length Tiësto Asia Tour DVD sold over 100,000 copies worldwide.
Andrew has directed, shot, and edited promotional and marketing videos for hundreds of clients, working with agencies, brands, museums, restaurants, venues, promoters, record labels, and artists of a variety of genres including: Grey Goose, Cannes Lions, Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, The Mill, Chivas Regal, Courvoisier, Gallo Wines, Ask Men, Crystal Light, Reds Wicked Ale, Riot Fest, The Silver Room, Source Healing, Cobra Lounge, Japonais by Morimoto, Juno in Lincoln Park, The Music Trust, Pro-Ject, Paradigm Presents, Chop Shop, and The Art Institute of Chicago.
As a music video director, Andrew has helmed over 40 music videos for major dance labels including Black Hole Recordings, Armada, and Ultra Music. Most notably Andrew directed the Cosmic Gate, Emma Hewwit collaboration Be Your Sound, which has reached over 4 million views, and just this year Andrew finished a time-lapse trilogy for the Grammy nominated artist BT.
Andrew’s original visual works are being released on the DVJ Vision label, featuring his Pixel Girls series, which now includes over 20 original visions. His team has created custom visuals for the likes of The Art Institute of Chicago, Disclosure, Nascar, Sony Playstation, DJ Dan, Motorola, Aly & Fila, and Tiësto. Most recently and notably Andrew directed the custom content creation for Bud Light’s event Whatever USA, for their massive party featuring 360 degree projections. This was the largest experiential ad campaign in history, and a huge custom mapping project.
